I played junior league basketball my first year, but then joined the college basketball team in our first year to compete in the NCAA. We had the first two fully-scholarshipped wheelchair athletes of any college in the nation, Willy Hernandez and Jesus Alamillo. With them we went on to win fourth in the nation that year. In the years to come we won two National Championships. After I left the team in 1992 to finish my degree, the team went on to win two more National Titles.

Here is a picture of me with Coach Jim Hayes at the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities Awards Breakfast. I received the award in 1991.

	This is a picture of me at the Final Four tournament in Minnesota in 1990. I look a little outsized, eh?

And there were the trips home when we got to show off our prizes. This particular one is from our National Championship in 1991.
