April 1 meant April Fools and our 5th Wedding Anniversary.
Our gift to each other was a much-needed barbeque grill. We didn't
waste any time putting it to use. |
 |
And Greg turned 35. Angela presents a flaming mass of
dark-chocolate cake with 34 candles on it. When the numbers get that
high, sometimes you lose count. |
 |
Mom and Dad presented me with my Great-grandfather's
mandolin. I love it! I learned to play it as a teenager after
Mamaw Speed had it refurbished. But it stayed in her hall closet until
her recent passing at the age of 93. I promise to give it a good home! |

Oreo lounges in Caitlin's eclectically decorated reading
nook. Devin and I recently went driving around to try to find Oreo after
he'd gone missing for two days. We saw him under a truck in a nearby
neighborhood. But when we approached he ran off. We knocked on
the front door to speak with the owner. When we asked him about the
black and white cat we saw in his driveway, he replied, "Oh yeah, that's
Oreo, we've had him for 10 years now." How freaky was that? Our
real Oreo turned up at the back door later that night. |

We built four raised garden beds so we could live off the
land. Angela already has a mess of vegetables growing including
tomatoes, potatoes, three different types of peppers, onions, okra, squash
and more. |

 |
We took the kids to see
Zoe Girl and
Jump 5 in concert at our
church's new Metro
Center. They put on a really good show. Jump 5 is very big
in kids' circles because of their frequent appearance on the Disney Channel
and Radio Disney. |

 |
Waiting in line for autographs afterwards, Devin couldn't
hold on any longer.
I finally just let him sleep on the floor while we waited for the artists
to come out. |
 |
Caitlin get's her picture with Chris from Jump 5. She
seemed perfectly fine. |
 |
Then after we exited the building, she and Bailey started
jumping up and down and screaming at the top of their lungs from excitement. |

Using a soccer goal as his cage and a lawn hose as his
whip, the fearless (and shirtless) Devin the Magnificent entertains young
and old with his amazing cat training demonstrations. |
