Another in the Childhood Picture-A-Month series circa 1976.
I guess I had something against being photographed putting on my socks.
Get a load of those white bell-bottoms on the bed next to me. And I always
say, you can never have too many white and green sombreros hanging on your
wall. |

Easter! Bluebonnets! Pictures! |

Can you believe we've been married a year? A frozen cake
tells no lies. Remember it all? It was just like yesterday...(wavy lines,
wavy lines) ->

Cruz, Caitlin, and Devin get some help from mom decorating
Easter eggs. |

Angela sings in the church choir on Easter Sunday. See her
up there in the top-right corner? I've added a pointer to aid in your
viewing. |

Greg turned 31 on the 7th of April. Angela threw a big
surprise birthday party. But...
The day before, I discovered two huge bags of potatoes on the back porch
that I happened upon before Angela could get them inside. I thought, "that's
a lot of potatoes." The night before, I saw the address book open on her
computer; open to a friend of mine's address. I thought, "maybe she's
calling his wife, they're friends." Then the next morning Angela showed me
the birthday cake she had made for me. It was a double-decker, enough to
feed Cox's army when they had that big party thing. And I thought, "uh...I
know she likes to do things big, but this is ridiculous." So, I asked her if
she was planning a surprise party. And I felt bad, because I know Angela
just can't lie. And, she told me. :( So, I greeted everyone at the
door as they came in with a big "SURPRISE!" |

We spent Easter day at my brother, Randy's, house in
Waxahachie. While there we got to ride on some go-karts. Greg hangs on for
dear life.
Caitlin practices being a backseat driver. I love the look he's got on
his face in response.
Devin takes the wheel! Anyone else notice how close he came to that car?
That reminds me of the time the two guys were passing through the town of
Waxahachie and were arguing about how to pronounce "Waxahachie." One thought
it should be with a short first "a" and another thought it should be
pronounced "aw." They pulled into a Dairy Queen for lunch and while there,
to help settle the argument, asked the guy behind the counter, "How do you
pronounce this place?" To which the guy replied, "d-a-i-r-y q-u-e-e-n." |

The kids eagerly await the hunt for 500 plastic ellipsoids. |
 |
I hid a prize egg at the Easter Egg Hunt. Can you spot it?
It has $5 in it! The older kids had all but given up when one of them
stumbled over it finally. |
 |
Maybe Devin has a future as a bouncer! Angela bounced at
just the right time to launch him off the trampoline. |
 |
Devin gets his hair cut. He did cry some, but I would too
if I were him. No one with a hair-do like that should be allowed to cut
other people's hair! |

About once a month we like to go feed the fish at the Joe
Pool Lake Marina. This is the perfect time when they come out of the deeper
waters as it warms up. I've actually seen ducks walk across the mass of
fish. Below are the freshly hatched chillens of mama duck. |
 |
Angela had the bright idea of building a raised flower bed.
Man was that a lot of work. Angela is very creative. And sometimes I kid
her about it. She thinks of the weirdest things at the oddest times. But
some of her ideas sound good, so I wait them out. And if she's still talking
about the idea after about a month, then I know it's a keeper. This was one
of those. |

Caitlin, Devin, and Cruz from next-door play with a
parachute-thingy. |
 |
Oh boy, a worm. |

Angela is going to kill me for putting this picture in. But
life's too short, anyway. Here she is sweating it up eating boiled
crawfish. |
